Updating to 2015 from 2012

Hello, we are attempting to upgrade from 2012 version to 2015 but it is failing to contact the DB (2012 version works just fine)

Is there anything extra that needs to be done to upgrade from 2012 to 2015?

Odd behavior in ASG 2015

We have been running on 2012 for sometime, however we had downloaded and started the preparation to move to 2015. We installed up to the latest that we were licensed for, which was 2015 Patch 8, and we are seeing a few oddities that I don't see mentioned in the patch notes of any of the subsequent releases.

Under "Connections" we have many different folders segregating out our different environments, machines, and other items. We use to be able to expand multiple different folders, and Ctrl+click, and then select "Run-As", which would open and connect all machines.
With 2015 Patch 8, we are only able to CTRL+Click in a single folder, and not machines in other folders.

Also, when using the search utility (which is so much nicer in 2015 as its own tab), after searching for specific machines, if we want to revise our search, if we highlight our search text in the box, and then click "Delete" ASG attempts to delete the selected machine, and not the text in the text box.
I am sure with proper training this can be avoided with our admins if this is working as it should be?

Shouldn't users be able to set there own Pre / Post Scripts?

CSV Export/Import loses Icon(Image) settings

using ASG-Remote Desktop 2015 (V8.0.5091.0)
I can export my connection list via XML and edit the image to change Icons, but when I export as .csv, all of the image ID's are the same.
If I edit them in the .csv and import, it ignores them and sets them to the default.

Upgrade of 2012 Enivronment

I'm sure it is something simple but I have no dropdown list of environments when I try to upgrade of 2012 Environment. I've created a couple of extra environments but the drop down is still blank.

Is there another way to import a vrb or vrd file?

Moving database

We are running below version of ASG and I have to migrate the database of ASG from one server to another as we are retiring our old server. I have took a backup of the database and restored it on a different SQL server and pointed to the new database server in the environment manager, but when I try to open the app it is just hanging up, I have tested the SQL connection it works fine but I can not login to the app. Can someone pls help ASAP

Wenn ich von Visionapp 2012 einen Export starte und anschließend diese Datei in ASG Remote Desktop 2015 importiere, passiert nichts. Egal welches Format (vre, CSV, vrb oder vrsb) ich benutze. Hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich die Settings von der alten Version in die neue Version bekomme?

UNIX Credentials Not Working

I have an existing credential [named nandod] defined that is set to "Use local login on destination computer".

I have created a new Connection with the following settings:
  • Connection - Protocol: SSH
  • Roles - General: Credentials | Remote Access: SSH
  • Credentials - I selected nandod from drop-down

When I connect to the new Connection, I always get prompted for the password of the account. Why is it not picking up the credential password?

This issue only happens for all UNIX servers.

Visionapp 2010r2 to 2015

We currently are using Visionapp 2010R2. For all of our machines running anything above Windows 7, we have to add the 'tspkg' item into the registry. If we were to upgrade to the 2015 version, is that resolved where we would no longer need to do that?

Also, is there a good place where I can see what has changed between the two versions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ASG RD 2016 Network Level Authentication

So this morning when I started ASG RD 2015 I was prompted to download ASG RD 2016. I went ahead and download and installed the new version (because I was having issues with 2015 randomly hanging).

After installing the 2016 version, now when I try to connect, it tells me that the machine I'm trying to connect to requires Network Level Authentication and it's not enabled in RDP connetion properties.

I tried all the registry hacks that I found on the forum but nothing seems to fix it.

I'm running on a windows 8.1 enterprise workstation. ASG 2015 still works fine, but 2016 keeps giving that warning.

Any suggestion on a solution?

Hallo an alle,

bräuchte mal eure Hilfe, und zwar - an welcher Einstellung kann es liegen, dass nach dem Update auf die Version ASG Remote 2016 (vorher 2015) das Programm nicht beim ersten Ausführen fragt ob die Daten aus der alten Version übernommen werden sollen? Ich musste die Daten aus der V2015 exportieren und anschließend importieren. Für unbeaufsichtigten Rollout ist es etwas ungünstig... Smile

Update from 2009 to 2016

Hi there

I read that users coming from 2009 wanted to upgrade to 2011 had to upgrade first to 2010R2 and then to 2011.

What about upgrading from 2009 to 2016 - which steps are needed? Backup the DB and start the 2016 against the 2009 db?

Zugriff auf Server 2012 R2

Ich habe Visionapp RD auf einem Windows 7 SP1 Laptop installiert und ich kann auf Server 2008 R2 und Server 2012 R2 zugreifen.

Zu Testwecken habe ich Visionapp RD auf einem Windows 10 Laptop installiert. Der Zugriff auf Server 2008 R2 geht. Auf Server 2012 R2 kann ich nicht zugreifen und erhalte folgende Meldung:

"the remote computer 10.10.... requires network level authentification, which your computer does not support"

Ich arbeite mit folgender Version:
Remote desktop 2012
Version 7.1.3712.0

Liegt dies an der VisionApp Version?

VNC Error Code: 11004

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

momentan verwenden wir die Version ASG Remote Desktop 2016.
Ich habe versucht in dieser eine VNC Verbindung aufzubauen welche mit der folgenden Meldung abgebrochen wird:
"Failed to obtain adress information for [Name des Gerätes]
Error Code: 11004. Der angeforderte Name ist gültig, es wurden jedoch keine Daten des angeforderten Typs gefunden."

Mit einem anderen VNC Viewer konnte das Gerät allerdings erreicht werden.

Zuvor wurde die Version 2011 verwendet in welcher man nur VNC als Protololl wählen musste und anschließend die IP eingeben musste.

Muss man hier noch Einstellungen tätigen oder ist Ihnen der Fehler bekannt ?

ASG Remote Desktop 2012 ist/war auch auf diesem Server 2012 R2 installiert und funktioniert weiterhin ohne Probleme.

ASG Remote Desktop 2015/2016 ließen sich zunächst starten.

Es wurde dann eine Migration der Einstellungen von 2012 auf 2015/2016 versucht. Dabei kam es zu Problemen (Umgebungen nicht kompatibel ...) und die Migration brach ab.

Seitdem startet ASG Remote Desktop 2015/2016 nicht mehr. (siehe obige Fehlermeldungen).

ASG Remote Desktop 2015/2016 wurden mehrmals deinstalliert und wieder installiert + Neustart Server.

Nichts brachte Erfolg.


Wie bekomme ich ASG Remote Desktop 2015/2016 ans Laufen ?

Hallo Zusammen,

ich habe gerade festgestellt, dass ich Unterordner nicht mehr mit VMWare/AD/HyperV synchronisieren kann.

Wenn ich im entsprechenden Menü der Ordner Eigenschaften bin, sehe ich Beispielsweise bei HyperV/Allgemein nur 3 Textboxen:
SCVMM environment
Identifier
Console Identifier

Alle 3 sind ausgegraut und in der ersten steht "Unknown / no valid reference".
Im Hauptordner habe ich das vollständige Menü und alles ist änderbar.

Ich komme gerade nicht darauf, woran das liegen könnte.
Da es mir auch erst heute aufgefallen ist, kann ich nicht ausschließen, dass das auch schon in einer älteren Version so war.
Heute habe ich auf ASG RD 2016 Version 9.0.5223.0 aktualisiert.

Keyboard Resources

Hi,
in Windows RDP there is a Feature to share local keyboard resources which means that all WinKey shortcuts works in the RDP session.(when you inside the session window)

is there a possible way to allow it Via ASG 2015 (last update)

also,
i would like to disable the "administration -shutdown all \ restart all"
as i work in a sensitive environment i do not want that kind of feature.
