ASG2016 latest build

Hey,

Now with latest build windows 8,1 ASG crashes 2-3 times per day
this is not very good.
Have you seen heard of this before?

Hello, can you help us to migrate a SQL database, with 300 objects, from visionapp RD 2011 (7.0.3328.0) to ASGRD2016 (9.0.5223.0). We have installed the new version with new licenses, but no way to migrate our existing database. Thanks in advance.

Manually Create CSV for import

How can I manually create a CSV file for import? I have servers from multiple domains. I've tried the configuration from the help file in 2015 with no success.
Example:
Server1;Server1;;;;3389;;;;RDP;ALL

Any ideas on the proper syntax?

I've created a connection for a Windows 7 x64 VM in our environment and assigned local Admin credentials to the connection. I can successfully connect via RDP, and I've enabled firewall rules for remote RPC commands. When I right click and select Administration (Windows) > Restart, I get the prompt to confirm the reboot, accept, and the VM is successfully restarted.

From my understanding, ASG supports RDP auto reconnect, but I can not seem to get this feature to work. In the connection profile, I've set the RDP role and selected the "Reconnect if the connection is dropped" option. Under tools > setttings > Connections, I've set the following:
  • retry connection if connection fails: automatically
  • maximum retry attempts: 7
  • time (in sec.) between retry attempts: 10
  • return codes for retry: initially left blank, but have also tried 2308;516;4006 to no avail

Initiating a restart via ASG or the VM console, the RDP window does not reopen after the VM restarts (roughly 15 seconds to reboot). What am I doing wrong?

Cant use credentials for Multi edit

I have to enter my credentials for evry machine I want to login to. Had 2012 in past and was easy to inherit credentials.
Multiedit-Credentials- I choose the right one from drop down - check box credentials
but it doesn't work

new trial license possible?

Is it possible to get another trial key? We're not done with the testing and comparing so it would be nice to have another one.

New Database

I have setup a new database for a new department in my organization. I can test conenct to the database form the setup screen, but cant login to the actual environment.

It says Connection could not be established. I assume I need to login with a default user to setup permissions?

Default Credentials

In earlier versions of ASG RD, you could assign a default credential so that simply double clicking the connection would launch RDP and log you in. After updating to the latest version, I now must choose which credential I use each time I make a connection. I make many connections every day and this is time consuming. Is there a way to associate a default credential to each rdp connection?

External Applications Variable IP missing

I'd like to open a share on the remote computer. Therefore i need the IP address as specified in the Connection - Connection properties.

However, there is no such variable. I've worked around this problem using the following Parameter: \\%ComputerName%\Sharename and set the IP as Destination name

However, there is no ComputerName Property under Connection - Connection. It is definitively not the Name Property from Connection - General.

I reckon the %Computername% variable is the Destination Name Property from Connection - Connection?


Can someone shed a bit of light on this? Im confused

Hallo,

unsere Subscription ist abgelaufen.

Da wir diese nicht verlängern wollen, hier nun meine Fragen.

Welche Einschränkungen treten ein? Oder kann ich nur nicht die aktuellen Patches und Updates installieren? Läuft das Programm ansonsten ohne Probleme weiter?

Hello, I've started to experience the following message when connecting to some of the servers in my Visionapp 2010r2 Remote Desktop console:

Remote computer returned RDP protocol error 260

It only happens against some servers. Others work fine

I've tried uninstall/reinstall of the software
Cleared out Registry entries and forced re-connection to the DB
Tried on a separate clean install machine - same problem
My colleagues don't have the same problem
Flushed DNS
Reregistered DNS
Uninstall VirtualBox to remove virtual network interfaces and removed bridging
Done a netstate -a -o and don't see any 3389 port contentions


any ideas?

Lost settings on upgrade to v9.0.5266.1

Hi,

I upgraded from v9.0.5222.0 to to v9.0.5266.1 and all my settings have been lost.

I have only the one environment as specified in the %APPDATA%\Roaming\ASG-RemoteDesktop\9.0\environments.xml. The connection string points to a file which exists but was only small, around 15KB.

Does the upgrade save a backup of the previous settings anywhere?

Obviously, it would be wise to export the settings before an upgrade...

I found a copy of the config file pre-upgrade under %AppData%\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\ASG-Remote Desktop 2016.

I restored the file back to the usual location and I have all my settings back.

I suggest the upgrade procedure should suggest a backup or export of the settings.

Hallo,

es besteht ja die Möglichkeit eine virtuelle Maschine über "Rechtsklick -> Administration VMware -> Einschalten" hochzufahren.
Dies ist aber bei uns nur bedingt möglich da bei einigen Maschinen die Option gar nicht angezeigt wird. (siehe Screeenshots)

Woran kann das liegen?

Credentials in Memory

I need to see how the RemoteDesktop 2016 application handles the credentials it stores. Does it keep them in memory while the application is open?

I've discovered that trying to move to a new laptop and using my remote desktop 2015, it won't import my license file because it says it's expired. So is your licensing annual meaning someone has to pay every year to use a license or it will run on that machine installed until it dies?

I think this is the second time I've experienced having to purchase a new license file when moving machines. not happy.

Autologin Issue

I'm hoping that perhaps I'm just missing something...I'm using 2016 after having been on 2015 for a while, and I'm trying to get used to the differences. I figured out how to get credentials to propagate down to connections, but I can't seem to get it to autologin for me. If I right-click the connection and select the credential that way, it works. If I just double-click on the connection, I get challenged for the password. Did I miss a setting?

Wir testen ASG Remote Desktop 2016 und sind mit den RDP Verbindungen bisher sehr zufrieden. Bei Verbindungen mit ICA bekommen wird als "nicht Administrator" stets den Fehler:
"Verbindungsfehler: Der Desktop, den Sie öffnen wollen, ist derzeit nicht verfügbar. Wenden Sie sich an Ihren Administrator, um sicherzustellen, dass die richtigen Optionen für Ihre Clientverbindung eingestellt wurden."

Wir verwenden XenApp 6.5 - gibt es hierfür eine Lösung?

Kann man auch eine Published Application starten oder funktioniert nur der Desktop?
